Abstract painter. Mountain dweller. Dog mom. Coffee before everything. MC creates work that feels like the earth itself — layered, textured, alive with hidden stories.
MC begins each piece with words — poetry, thoughts, fragments of feeling — written directly on raw canvas. Then the writing disappears under layers of pigment, texture, and color.
The canvas gets rolled up. Put away. Time passes. When it comes back out, something has shifted. The layers interact in unexpected ways. Cracks form. Colors bleed. The buried words press up against the surface.
The result isn't painted — it's grown. Like lichen on rock. Like bark splitting. Like nature doing what it does when you stop watching.
Every piece draws from the textures, rhythms, and patience of the natural world. MC doesn't paint landscapes — she creates the feeling of being in one.
The work takes as long as it takes. Rolling, resting, returning. There's no rush when the goal is something genuine.
Vibrant, unapologetic color is the heartbeat of every piece. These aren't quiet paintings for quiet walls — they demand to be seen.
Poetry lives under every canvas. You may never read it, but you'll feel it. The words inform the energy, rhythm, and soul of the work.
MC takes a limited number of commissions each year. She also loves hearing from people who connect with the work.
